Perhaps more than ever, journalism - and those who aspire to sacrifice themselves to such a noble cause - need true friends in the business world. Friends who will support them. Friends who will protect them. And friends who will challenge them to do more and be better than they’ve ever been. We want to be those kinds of friends. 


We are not just blind activists. Neither are we a non-profit. We are ourselves a business - with shareholders, personal lives, and families. But we firmly believe that if everything we do as a business strives to support and fund effective, responsible, and sustainable journalism, we will always have plenty of profitable work to do. 


Journalism is good business.

Our mission statement was crafted together with help from our industry advisors. The same mission statement was ultimately approved by our advisors and then presented to our Board of Directors for a confirming or ratifying vote as part of our company's reason for existence.

As needs and information changes, this mission statement is changeable at any time by following the same process used to create it in the first place. In this way we ensure that we are always seeking to be aligned with members of the very community we are striving to serve.
